Welcome to AboutRobertsbridge.High Bank

Robertsbridge is a large rural village in East Sussex within the civil parish of Salehurst & Robertsbridge and located about 12 miles north of Hastings.

The largest of the three settlements in the parish, Robertsbridge, owes its existence to the founding of a Cistercian Abbey in the 12th century.

The 14th and 15th centuries seem to have been particularly prosperous and have left a legacy of many timber framed houses in the village centre.

By using the menu links you can find information about all aspects of this historic village and also links to other sites of relevance.

I intend to develop the site as more information becomes available and if you have any information which you think is relevant and would like to share it, please contact me.

Thank you for visiting.
